LibraryHow to create and share an AI RPG World
Updated 2026-08-07
To create and share a World in FreedomRPG, choose Create World in the lobby, then describe the setting you want to make. The Game Master builds it with you through conversation while the World takes shape in a searchable explorer beside the chat.
When it is ready, choose Play to begin your own story in the World you created. Sharing is optional, but you can also choose Share World to freeze the current version and copy a link that lets other people begin stories of their own.
Start in World Builder
Your Worlds appear together in the lobby. Choose Create World to open a blank World in the dedicated builder.
You do not need a finished setting document before you begin. Start with a single premise, a mood, a character, a map, pages of notes, or anything else that gives the Game Master a direction.
Describe what you want to create
World building happens through the chat on the left. Tell the Game Master what the setting is about, ask it to invent missing details, or give it specific characters, places, factions, history, rules, and relationships to include.
You can attach images and documents when the World should draw from material you already have. Keep talking as ideas develop. Ask for more depth, correct something that does not fit, or change direction completely.
There is no form to fill in and no need to define every field yourself. The Game Master turns the conversation into a structured World as you go.

Start with a premise in your own words. The Game Master builds from there.
Read the World as it grows
The World explorer updates beside the conversation. Its overview shows the cover, description, and opening that new players will see. Characters, places, factions, lore, rules, and other parts of the setting appear in the navigation as they are created.
Open any entry to read its full page, follow its connections to other parts of the World, or search across everything you have made. Generated covers, scene art, and character portraits appear with the entries they belong to.

The World fills in beside the conversation, and every entry has a page of its own.
If a builder response takes the World somewhere you do not want, rewind to an earlier point in the conversation. The World returns to the state it had there, so you can try a different direction without manually unpicking every change.
Shape the opening
Every World has one opening that becomes the beginning of each new story. You can read it from the World overview, including the first choices presented to a player.
Ask the Game Master to create or revise the opening in the same chat you use for everything else. Describe the situation, tone, viewpoint, or characters you want a new player to meet, then keep refining it until it introduces the World properly.
Play in the World you created
Choose Play in the builder header to start a game from the current version of the World. You can use it to check the opening and first choices, or simply keep playing in the setting you made. You never have to share it.
A game started from your World keeps the version it began with. Changes you make in the builder afterward do not rewrite that story, and playing it does not change the World you are building. Return to the builder and choose Play again whenever you want to start a new story from a newer version.

Playing a World you built, starting from the opening you prepared.
Share a playable link
Choose Share World when the World is ready for other people. Freedom freezes the current version and copies its play link.
Anyone who opens the link starts a separate story from the opening you prepared. Their choices do not change your World, your own games, or another player's story.

Sharing copies the link and points it at the version you just shared.
Keep building after you share
Sharing does not lock the builder. Keep adding characters, revising lore, changing the opening, or developing any other part of the World.
Choose Share World again when you want future players to start from a newer version. The same link will open the newest version you shared, while stories that have already started remain unchanged.

The builder keeps offering somewhere to take the World next.
Your own Worlds stay in the Your Worlds section of the lobby. There is no public gallery in the app yet, so other people discover them through the links you share.
Post it for the community
Post your finished World in Share Your Worlds on the FreedomRPG Discord. A useful post includes the cover, a short description of what players can expect, any relevant content notes, and the play link.
Share material you created or have the right to share. Add clear content notes where relevant, and keep community posts appropriate for Share Your Worlds.

Can I update a World after sharing it?
Yes. Keep building, then choose Share World again. The same link will open the new version for future players, while stories already underway stay unchanged.
